
Almost an year ahead of the season 2 premiere of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Disney+ has officially renewed the series for a third season. The announcement was made by Disney Branded Television and 20th Television.
According to Variety, the third season will be based on Rick Riordan's novel 'The Titan's Curse,' marking the next chapter in Percy's adventure.
The second season, which wrapped production in Canada's Vancouver, is yet to get an official premiere date while it is expected to release December this year.
Disney Branded Television's President Ayo Davis, according to Variety, said, "From the moment 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' debuted, it was clear this series had struck a chord with fans of all ages. With Season 2 set to premiere this December, we're thrilled to announce that Percy's journey will continue with a third season."
The second season's returning cast comprises Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, Leah Sava Jeffries, Charlie Bushnell, Daniel Diemer, and Dior Goodjohn.
The series, co-created by Riordan and Jonathan E Steinberg, is executive produced by Dan Shotz, Rebecca Riordan, Craig Silverstein, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Bert Salke, Jeremy Bell, DJ Goldberg, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Jason Ensler, and Sarah Watson.
