Game of Thrones star Stephen Dillane and Feud: Capote vs The Swans actor Tom Hollander are the latest names to board The Uprising, Paul Greengrass’ upcoming period drama from Focus Features. They join Andrew Garfield, who leads the film as the revolutionary head of a brutal rebellion against King Richard II’s oppressive rule.

Currently in production, The Uprising follows Garfield’s character as he unites an army of commoners to take on the monarchy in a fierce battle for justice and survival. The film’s ensemble also includes Jamie Bell, Cosmo Jarvis, Thomasin McKenzie, Jonny Lee Miller, Woody Norman, and Katherine Waterston.

Rounding out the newly announced cast are Irish actor Stanley Townsend and Last Days star Sky Yang. Townsend, a veteran of both stage and screen, has worked with acclaimed filmmakers like Mike Leigh, Stephen Frears, and Sam Mendes. Yang, meanwhile, drew critical attention for portraying missionary John Allen Chau in Justin Lin’s Last Days, which premiered at Sundance earlier this year.

The feature is being produced by Jason Blum through Blumhouse alongside Gregory Goodman, Joanna Kaye, and Greengrass. Lars Sylvest will produce via Thank You Pictures, while Joe Neurauter joins under Supernix.

BAFTA winner Dillane is best remembered for his portrayal of the stoic and tragic Stannis Baratheon in Game of Thrones. Hollander, who recently earned an Emmy nomination for his turn as Truman Capote in FX’s Feud: Capote vs The Swans, is also set to portray Alfred Hitchcock in Netflix’s Monster: The Ed Gein Story, his second collaboration with Ryan Murphy.

Focus Features, which is also backing awards-season contenders Hamnet by Chloé Zhao and Bugonia by Yorgos Lanthimos, will handle US distribution for The Uprising.
