Earlier, we reported that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe wrote a letter to the new Harry Potter, who takes on the role for the HBO series, Dominic McLaughlin. Now, McLaughlin has shared what he felt when he opened the letter.

The young actor was given the letter when he was returning home on a train to Glasgow, he revealed while speaking to the BBC in their show Saturday Mash-Up! Live. To describe the feeling of receiving a letter from the original Harry Potter, he said, “It was insane.”

It was not until he got to the bottom that he knew that it was written to him by Radcliffe. “My dad tapped me on the train and just gave me this letter. I read it, and then I got to the bottom, and it said, ‘Dan R.’ I was going mad, but I had to [keep cool]. I was on the train.”

Previously, Daniel Radcliffe shared about the letter, “I wrote Dominic a letter just wishing him the best time. I had a wonderful experience, and I hope he has an even better one."

Apart from his experience reading Radcliffe's letter, McLaughlin also had an update about his experience shooting for Harry Potter. "It’s going amazing; it’s going really well. I’ve made good friends with everyone; it’s great to be there.”

The upcoming series features an all-new ensemble: Arabella Stanton takes on Hermione Granger, while Alastair Stout steps in as Ron Weasley. The adult cast includes Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, and Nick Frost as Hagrid.

The extended cast with supporting actors comprises Bertie Carvel as Cornelius Fudge, Katherine Parkinson as Molly Weasley, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy, Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, Leo Earley as Seamus Finnigan, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, Bel Powley as Petunia Dursley and Daniel Rigby as Vernon Dursley.

Francesca Gardiner is the creator, writer and showrunner for the series. She serves as an executive producer along with Mark Mylod, who directs multiple episodes of the series. Other executive producers include JK Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Bronte Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.
