As he shoots for the upcoming HBO series, fans spotted the actor in the wizarding school headmaster's ensemble at a beach in Cornwall. A Reddit user shared photos from the Harry Potter TV series set, featuring John Lithgow as Dumbledore, spotted filming on a beach in Cornwall, England. Fans have been guessing what scene in Harry Potter is shot on the beach, while some have also been sharing their opinions on the casting.

Apart from McLaughlin, Frost and Lithgow, the series also stars Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.

Francesca Gardiner is the creator, writer and showrunner for the series. She serves as an executive producer along with Mark Mylod, who directs multiple episodes of the series. Other executive producers include JK Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts of Bronte Film and TV, and David Heyman of Heyday Films.

Filming is currently underway for the series. Bronte Film, Heyday Films, and Warner Bros Television are backing the series, which is set to premiere in 2027. Reportedly, the series will run for seven seasons.
