Atlee has offered fresh updates on his upcoming film with Allu Arjun, tentatively titled AA22xA6. Speaking to the media after receiving an honorary doctorate from Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai recently, Atlee described the project as his “dream” and promised a “visionary cinematic experience.”
“We are bringing in all the latest technologies. In terms of budget, that’s for the producer to disclose. My focus is on creating a visionary cinematic experience. This film is my dream, and I believe the magnum opus will make us all proud,” Atlee said.
While speculation continues over the film’s reported Rs 800 crore budget, Atlee clarified that no official figure has been finalised. “We haven’t arrived at a conclusion on the movie’s budget yet,” he said, addressing industry buzz that the film could surpass even SS Rajamouli’s upcoming SSMB29 in scale.
The AA22xA6 director also revealed that the film is set to introduce a new technology to Indian cinema, with significant portions to be shot in studios using advanced VFX techniques. He confirmed that pre-production is currently underway in Mumbai.
Deepika Padukone has officially joined the cast. Reports suggest other prominent actors, including Janhvi Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur, are also in talks to join the ensemble. Earlier this year, Allu Arjun and Atlee were seen visiting leading VFX studios in Los Angeles, including Ironhead Studio and engaging with technicians like Jose Fernandez and James Madigan.
The film is yet to receive an official title or release date. “The release date is the producer’s call,” Atlee noted, avoiding further comment on the timeline.
With Allu Arjun riding high after Pushpa: The Rule and Atlee’s pan-India credibility post-Jawan, AA22xA6 has drawn significant industry attention.
