The trailer of Ali Abbas Zafar's Bharat was released online on Monday. The film stars Salman Khan in the role of an Indian man whose life journey intersects with key events in Indian history. Adapted from the 2014 South Korean drama Ode to My Father, Bharat is produced by Salman Khan Films, Reel Life Productions and T-Series.

The trailer opens with a voice-over of Jawaharlal Nehru's 'tyrst with destiny' speech; we meet Bharat — a middle-class man in his '70s — recounting the adventures of his colourful life. Through flashbacks, we see Bharat as a daredevil circus stuntman, a concerned oil prosecutor, a brave seafarer, a human rights activist and back to old man. The film traverses a wide timeline, from the Paritition of India to 2010, as Bharat outlives the personal and political turmoil of his times. Along the way, we also meet Disha Patani as a glitzy circus girl, Katrina Kaif as a government clerk and Bharat's love interest, Sunil Grover as his best friend, Shashank Arora as his brother and Jackie Shroff as his estranged father. Locations such as the Jama Masjid of Delhi, the oil rigs of Saudi Arabia and the India-Pakistan Wagah Border also featured in the 3-minute plus trailer.

Bharat is scheduled to release on June 5, 2019. Salman Khan was last seen in Race 3. His upcoming projects are Dabangg 3, Inshallah and Kick 2.
