Producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments is delighted with the phenomenal response to Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2. He acquired the film's theatrical rights for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana at a high price, a decision that many initially viewed as risky. However, he remained confident in the film's prospects.
“Because of Nelson, Anirudh and Rajinikanth sir, I believe Jailer 2 will become bigger than the first part. When we bought the rights, many people said we had taken a risk. But now, it is paying off, and by this Sunday, the film will reach the break-even point everywhere,” said Naga Vamsi.
Produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, Jailer 2 was released on October 15. Nelson Dilipkumar directed the film, while Anirudh Ravichander composed the music. The film has been performing strongly at the box office across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Against this backdrop, Naga Vamsi held a press meet to share his happiness over its performance. Mythri Sasi of Mythri Movie Distributors, which acquired the film's distribution rights in the Nizam region, also attended the event.
Naga Vamsi also revealed that he had approached Nelson Dilipkumar to direct a film for him. “I asked Nelson Dilipkumar to do a film for me, and he is doing one for us after completing the film with Rajinikanth sir and Kamal Haasan sir,” he said.
Naga Vamsi said he trusted Nelson and Anirudh, which gave him the confidence to acquire the film's rights. He also praised Anirudh's work in Rajinikanth's films. “Whenever Anirudh composes music for a Rajinikanth sir film, he gives his best,” he said.
“Whether it is a film we produce or one we distribute, it gives us immense happiness when distributors earn their commission. In recent times, it has become increasingly rare for distributors to make such returns. Initially, many people were worried that we had acquired Jailer 2 at a very high price. However, after seeing the collections from the evening shows on October 15, the distributors expressed confidence that they would definitely earn their commission,” Naga Vamsi said.
Mythri Sasi, who acquired the film's distribution rights in the Nizam region, said Jailer 2 had registered huge collections. “We are delighted that Sithara Entertainments entrusted the Nizam distribution rights of the film to Mythri Movie Distributors. In my assessment, we would have reached the break-even point and moved into profits by Vijayadashami itself,” said Sasi.
