All eyes are now on Peddi, the upcoming film starring Ram Charan in the lead role. The actor plays a wrestler and a cross-athlete in the film and has undergone a massive physical transformation to bring the character to life. Janhvi Kapoor stars as the female lead in director Buchi Babu Sana's project.
For Buchi Babu, Peddi marks only his second directorial venture. His debut film, Uppena, was a blockbuster that earned widespread acclaim. Backed by his mentor Sukumar, the filmmaker was entrusted with a large-scale project like Peddi as his sophomore film.
Regarded as one of the most ambitious films in Indian cinema, Peddi has been promoted extensively across the country. Every promotional asset released so far has heightened expectations and generated tremendous excitement among audiences. Amid the growing anticipation, Ram Charan recently spoke about director Buchi Babu Sana and expressed immense confidence in his abilities.
“Buchi Babu has scaled up Peddi brilliantly. For a director who has made just one film before this, he has already proven himself with Uppena, which crossed ₹100 crore and won a National Award. Mark my words, in the next few years, he will be among the top four directors,” said Ram Charan while speaking about Buchi Babu on a YouTube channel.
Even before its theatrical release, Peddi has begun making a strong impact across markets, with excitement surrounding the film growing rapidly. The momentum was particularly evident in North America, where advance bookings reportedly crossed the $100,000 mark within just a few hours of opening, reflecting the immense anticipation and strong overseas demand.
One of the biggest talking points among fans has been Ram Charan’s striking transformation for the film. From portraying a simple village cricketer to embodying the fierce and commanding persona of Peddi Pehlwan, the actor’s makeover has generated widespread appreciation.
Adding to the buzz is AR Rahman’s music, which has emerged as one of the film’s biggest strengths. The songs continue to trend across platforms and have further amplified excitement around the project. With every new update creating fresh waves of enthusiasm, Peddi is steadily shaping up to be one of the most awaited cinematic spectacles on the horizon.
Apart from Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, the film features Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu in pivotal roles. It is produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner in association with Mythri Movie Makers and IVY Entertainment.
Peddi will be distributed in North India by Jio Studios following the success of Dhurandhar, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, and Raja Shivaji. The film is scheduled for premieres worldwide on June 3, 2026, ahead of its global theatrical release on June 4, 2026.
