Chiranjeevi is once again teaming up with director Bobby Kolli for his upcoming film, tentatively titled Chiru 158. The duo had earlier delivered the blockbuster Waltair Veerayya, and expectations are already high for their second collaboration.
The film is set to be officially launched with a pooja ceremony on Thursday, May 21. The project is being produced by Venkat K Narayana under the banner KVN Productions, which earlier backed the prestigious Vijay-starrer Jana Nayagan which is yet to see a release on the big screen.
Ahead of the launch, the makers officially announced some major additions to the technical team, further increasing excitement around the project.
Popular cinematographer Vijay Karthik Kannan has been roped in as the director of photography for the film. Known for his stylish visual work in films like Jailer, Daaku Maharaaj, and the upcoming Jailer 2, Vijay Karthik Kannan’s inclusion is expected to bring a fresh and dynamic visual style to the project. Interestingly, he has previously collaborated with Bobby Kolli, making this reunion even more promising.
The makers also confirmed that S Thaman will compose the music for the film, while Avinash Kolla will serve as the production designer.
The inclusion of both Thaman and Avinash Kolla has already generated strong curiosity among fans and industry circles. Thaman is currently one of the most sought-after music directors in Telugu cinema, consistently delivering chartbuster albums and impactful background scores. This marks his second collaboration with Chiranjeevi after Godfather.
Meanwhile, Avinash Kolla, who recently impressed audiences with his elaborate set work for Ram Charan’s Peddi, is expected to create visually grand and realistic settings for this film as well. Reports suggest that he designed nearly 25 massive sets for Peddi, which became one of the major talking points of that film.
The makers have already generated significant buzz through the film’s initial announcement poster, look-test images, and Chiranjeevi’s gym transformation video, all of which hinted at the actor’s stylish and intense new avatar.
Known for crafting mass entertainers packed with action and high-energy moments, Bobby Kolli is said to have designed this project as a larger-than-life commercial entertainer. The film reportedly presents Chiranjeevi in one of his fiercest avatars in recent years, with the narrative expected to feature powerful elevations, stylised action episodes, and moments tailored to celebrate the Megastar’s screen presence.
With a strong technical crew now officially on board and the film set to launch in grand fashion, Chiru158 has already emerged as one of the most-awaited projects in Telugu cinema.
