Earlier, we reported about Chiranjeevi teaming up with director Bobby Kolli for a film, tentatively titled Mega 158. Earlier this Sunday, the superstar announced that it would have its muhurtham ceremony on May 21, Thursday. "Every day is another opportunity to push beyond limits… Charged up and excited for another memorable journey with my dear Bobby Kolli for Mega 158. Opening Ceremony on May 21st," the superstar wrote. The actor also shared a video where he can be seen working out in the gym. Responding to the exercise video, director Bobby wrote, "Dear Annayya, every time I see you train with this intensity and passion, it reminds me why you continue to inspire generations. The fire, discipline and hunger in you are simply unmatched. It’s pushing me to dream bigger and work harder for Mega 158. Beyond excited to create something magical together once again."
The upcoming film is set to be produced by KVN Productions in its Telugu debut. The film brings the actor back together with the director after Waltair Veerayya (2023). Its makers are yet to share any official details about the film's story. However, they have shared a poster featuring a weapon that looks like an axe with blood spots on a wall and a tagline that reads, "The blade that set the bloody benchmark."
There are multiple speculations about the film, also known as Chiru Bobby 2, including the rumour that it stars Chiranjeevi as a doctor, that it might feature Mohanlal in a cameo role, and that it is unlikely to have an actress in a lead role. However, the makers are yet to confirm these speculative details.
On the technical front, the upcoming film has cinematographer Nimish Ravi, best known for his work in Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra.
Chiranjeevi's upcoming projects include Vishwambhara, a socio-fantasy film, directed by Vassishta and also starring Trisha. Produced by Vikram, Vamsi, and Pramod through the UV Creations banner, the film is expected to hit theatres later this year. The superstar also has a project with filmmaker Srikanth Odela and producer Nani in the pipeline.
