Actor Gopichand is currently busy with the historical period drama Bharatha Varsha, directed by Sankalp Reddy of Ghazi fame. On Saturday, another film of his was officially announced. The project will be directed by Vvenkat, who is making his debut as a filmmaker after working as an action choreographer.
The film is being produced by Vijay Chilla and Shashidevi Reddy under the banner of 70MM Entertainments. The makers confirmed that the pooja ceremony will be held on Sunday. Gopichand reportedly signed the film, billed as an action drama, after being impressed with the story narrated by Vvenkat.
Producer Vijay Chilla has previously backed successful films like Anando Brahma and Yatra. He also recently announced another project titled Powerpet, directed by Krishna Chaitanya, with Sundeep Kishan in the lead. That film is said to be a romantic action drama.
With the announcement of this new Gopichand project, Vijay Chilla appears to be scaling up with bigger ventures compared to his earlier films.
On the technical front, Shamdat will handle cinematography, while Sreekar Prasad is on board as editor. Ramakrishna and Mounica will serve as production designers, and Sam CS will compose the music.
Pre-production work is currently underway, and the shoot will commence once Gopichand completes Bharatha Varsha.
