Samantha is back with a bang with Maa Inti Bangaram. The film, which released on June 19 after a long gap, received a positive response from audiences and opened with strong collections. The film continued its momentum on the second and third days and also passed the Monday test successfully. With four days completed, the film has now entered the Rs 50 crore club, creating a new milestone in Samantha’s career.
This is the first time Samantha has played a female-centric film where the entire story revolves around her character. Directed by Nandini Reddy, the film is produced by Samantha, Raj Nidimoru, and Himanshu under the Tralala Pictures banner.
Maa Inti Bangaram is an action-backed family drama set in the 1980s. Samantha plays Swarna, who marries Anirudh against the wishes of his parents. The couple gets an opportunity to return to Anirudh’s village when his sister’s wedding takes place.
Swarna slowly wins the hearts of Anirudh’s family members with her love and affection, but her past continues to haunt her. The film revolves around how she faces those challenges and protects her family.
The film received a huge opening on the first day, surprising even the director and the team. Nandini Reddy and the entire team expressed their happiness over the unexpected response from audiences.
Now, in just four days, the film has collected Rs 50 crore, which is expected to be the highest-grossing film for Samantha as a solo lead. Earlier, she acted opposite top Telugu stars like Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, Jr NTR, and Allu Arjun, apart from working in several big Tamil films.
After her marriage to Raj Nidimoru, this is the first film where Samantha played the lead role that has been released. Earlier, she produced Subham, which became a hit, and she also appeared in a cameo role in the film.
