Samantha’s recently released Maa Inti Bangaram is continuing its strong run at the box office. The film opened with a huge response on Friday, witnessed growth on Saturday by collecting more than its opening day, and now registered a massive jump on Sunday. The film has reportedly collected nearly Rs 43 crore gross worldwide in three days.
Directed by Nandini Reddy, the film is produced by Samantha, Raj Nidimoru, and Himanshu under the Tra La La Pictures banner. Set in the 80s backdrop, Maa Inti Bangaram is a female-centric action family drama and marks Samantha’s return to the big screen after a long gap.
On the third day, the film witnessed around a 32 percent jump in collections, once again proving Samantha’s strong pull at the box office. At a time when many films are struggling to get good openings, Samantha’s film not only received a strong start but also attracted a large number of women audiences to theatres to watch their favourite star on the big screen.
The overseas performance of the film has also been impressive. On the third day, the movie collected nearly Rs 4 crore overseas, taking the three-day overseas total close to Rs 15 crore. This is considered a remarkable achievement for a film like Maa Inti Bangaram, and the movie has already entered the breakeven stage.
The story revolves around Swarna, played by Samantha, who marries a doctor against his parents’ wishes. The couple returns to his family home to attend his sister’s wedding. Initially, the family does not accept them, but Swarna wins everyone’s hearts with her love and affection. However, her past comes back to haunt her when a villain enters her life, changing everything.
Samantha has emerged as the biggest strength of the film, carrying the entire story on her shoulders with her performance.
