Earlier this Thursday, KVN Productions announced through social media the completion of the Pollachi production schedule for its upcoming film, directed by Bobby Kolli and starring Chiranjeevi. In the caption, the production banner wrote, "Mega 158 Pollachi Schedule Wrapped. The team of Chiru Bobby 2 has successfully completed a high-energy schedule, canning important portions featuring the principal cast. With the next schedule set to begin soon, the team is all geared up to set the BLOODY BENCHMARK. More exciting updates soon."
Tentatively titled Mega 158 and also known as Chiru Bobby 2, the film reunites Chiranjeevi with director Bobby Kolli after their collaboration on 2023's Waltair Veerayya. The upcoming film also stars Rachita Ram, Malayalam actor and Champion star Anaswara Rajan, Priyamani, and Nivetha Pethuraj.
The film marks the Telugu debut of KVN Productions. The producer is yet to reveal specifics about its story, but an official poster featuring an axe-like weapon with blood spots contains the tagline: "The blade that set the bloody benchmark."
According to unconfirmed reports, Chiranjeevi stars in the film as a doctor and Mohanlal plays a cameo role in it. On the technical front, Mega 158 has music by Thaman S, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan, and editing by Antony L Ruben, and production designer Avinash Kolla.
Chiranjeevi was most recently seen in Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, opposite Nayanthara. Directed by Anil Ravipudi, the film became a hit at the box office, reportedly earning more than 300 crore in its 50 days-plus theatrical run. The actor will next be seen in Vishwambhara, director Vassishta's socio-fantasy film that also stars Trisha. Produced by Vikram, Vamsi, and Pramod under the UV Creations banner, Vishwambhara is expected to hit theatres in the next two months. The superstar has a film with director Srikanth Odela and producer Nani as well.
