Rachita Ram, who has made a strong mark in Kannada cinema and recently impressed audiences with her pivotal role in Jailer, has been carefully choosing her next steps. The actor has been focusing on projects that offer a wider reach across languages and opportunities to share screen space with major stars. That patience has now paid off in a big way.
The actor is set to feature in Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi's upcoming film, tentatively titled Mega158, directed by Bobby Kolli. Rachita is said to have already joined the film's shoot in Pollachi, where she is currently filming alongside Chiranjeevi and the rest of the cast, which includes Priyamani and Anaswara Rajan.
Interestingly, this marks a significant milestone in Rachita's Telugu journey. After making her Telugu debut opposite Kalyan Dhev in Super Machi, the actor took her time before signing another Telugu project. Her return to the industry now comes alongside one of its biggest stars, making it a major career move.
The film will also mark Rachita's first collaboration with producer Venkat K Narayana, who is backing the project under KVN Productions. The banner, which is making its Telugu debut with Mega158, has already established a presence across multiple languages with projects such as Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups and Jana Nayagan.
For Bobby Kolli, the film marks a reunion with Chiranjeevi after the success of Waltair Veerayya. The screenplay has been written by Kona Venkat and K Chakravarthy Reddy, with Hari Mohana Krishna and Vineeth Potluri serving as additional screenplay writers. Dialogues for the untitled film are being penned by the Bhanu-Nandu duo.
The technical team includes S Thaman as music director, while Vijay Kartik Kannan handles cinematography. Avinash Kolla serves as the production designer, and Antony L Ruben is overseeing the editing.
Back in Kannada cinema, Rachita has an equally busy slate. Ayogya 2, directed by Mahesh Kumar and co-starring Sathish Ninasam, is gearing up for release. She is also working on Criminal, directed by Raj Guru and starring Dhruva Sarja, which is currently under production.
Meanwhile, sources reveal that Rachita is also in discussions with a few Tamil filmmakers and could soon finalise a project, potentially expanding her footprint further across South Indian cinema.
