Ram Charan’s latest release Peddi continues its strong theatrical run despite mixed reviews and ongoing conversations surrounding certain aspects of the film. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, the sports action drama stars Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead.
After posting solid numbers over its opening weekend, the film has now crossed another major milestone at the global box office. According to figures shared by the makers, Peddi has grossed Rs 315 crore worldwide within five days of release. The film hit theatres on June 4 and has maintained momentum across its core markets despite facing competition from mixed audience reactions and online discourse.
The Telugu version continues to remain the driving force behind the film’s performance. While the dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam were expected to widen its reach, reports suggest that the strongest traction has come from Telugu-speaking regions, with audiences in several territories opting for the original-language version.
Among domestic territories, Andhra Pradesh has emerged as one of the film’s strongest markets, continuing the trend observed during the opening weekend. Telangana too has contributed significantly to the overall numbers, helping maintain the film’s momentum through its first working day.
The Monday hold has particularly drawn attention, as weekday performance is often considered a key indicator of long-term theatrical success. Crossing the Rs 300-crore mark in five days gives the film a strong foundation heading into the rest of its run.
Made on a reported budget of around Rs 350 crore, Peddi still has considerable ground to cover before entering the profit zone. The film follows a young tribal man’s journey to earn identity and recognition for his village through multiple sporting disciplines including cricket, wrestling and marathon running.
Alongside Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, the film also features Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani in key roles.
