Superstar Mahesh Babu is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli, with Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran playing key roles. Meanwhile, his nephew Jai Krishna's debut film, Srinivasa Mangapuram, is all set to hit theatres on July 30.
Jai Krishna is the son of late actor Ramesh Babu and the grandson of legendary actor Krishna. There have been reports that Mahesh Babu may attend the pre-release event of Srinivasa Mangapuram, though there has been no official confirmation so far. While Mahesh Babu had earlier unveiled the film's first look and teaser, many have been waiting to see his involvement in promoting his nephew's debut film.
Putting all the speculation to rest, Mahesh Babu released a special video extending his support to Jai Krishna and requesting both his fans and his father Krishna's fans to encourage the newcomers.
"I am very happy that my brother's son Jai Krishna is making his debut with Srinivasa Mangapuram. Our entire family is very happy and excited about this film. The teaser, songs and trailer released so far have all been very impressive. Both Jai Krishna and Rasha look very promising on screen," said Mahesh Babu in the video.
Mahesh Babu credited director Ajay Bhupathi for presenting the newcomers in an impressive manner. "The credit should go to director Ajay Bhupathi for presenting Jai and Rasha so well on screen," he said.
The Superstar also appreciated the technicians who worked on the film and specially praised music director GV Prakash Kumar. "The backbone of this film is music director GV Prakash Kumar. The songs have become a big hit already. My favourite song is 'Allele' and I absolutely love that song," he added.
Mahesh Babu also pointed out an interesting coincidence about the film's release date. His debut film Rajakumarudu was also released on July 30, the same date on which Srinivasa Mangapuram is arriving in theatres.
"You all know that Srinivasa Mangapuram is releasing on July 30, the same date on which my debut film Rajakumarudu was released. I think Dutt garu planned it because he is very particular about these things," Mahesh Babu said.
The actor also recalled that several stars who were introduced by Vyjayanthi Movies went on to become huge successes. "Allu Arjun, Ram Charan and I were all introduced under the Vyjayanthi Movies banner, and it proved very lucky for all of us," said Mahesh Babu. He added that Jai Krishna and Rasha Thadani are also fortunate to be making their debut under the prestigious banner.
Mahesh Babu further mentioned that his uncle Adiseshagiri Rao, producer Kiran and veteran producer Ashwini Dutt have come together to back this prestigious project and expressed confidence that both the newcomers have a bright future ahead.
