With courtroom dramas finding a place in Telugu cinema in recent times, another film in the genre has now been officially launched. Titled Due Date, the film had a grand muhurat ceremony on Wednesday morning at the Film Nagar Temple in Hyderabad, attended by several prominent personalities from the Telugu industry.

Popularly known as Eluru Srinu, who has had a successful career as a journalist and later as a PRO for several films, is making his debut as a producer with Due Date under the Varshish banner. Pawan Tarigopula is co-producing the film.

Several leading producers, including SKN, Dheeraj Mogilineni, Vamsi Nandipati, and Bunny Vas, attended the launch and extended their best wishes to Eluru Srinu for his maiden production venture. Directors Maruthi, Vijay Kanakamedala, and VI Anand were also present to bless the team and participate in the launch ceremony.

Newcomers Lomesh Pudipeddi and Jshree play the lead pair, while Praneeth Patnaik and Vignani will be seen in pivotal roles. The entire cast was present at the muhurat ceremony.

Director Maruthi sounded the clapboard for the opening shot, while producer Bunny Vas switched on the camera. Producers SKN, Dheeraj Mogilineni, and Vamsi Nandipati handed over the script to director K Anand, officially launching the project.

Speaking on the occasion, the producers revealed that Due Date is a commercial courtroom drama inspired by a contemporary burning issue. They said the film has been designed as an engaging edge-of-the-seat entertainer, with freshness in every aspect—from its title to the screenplay.

The makers expressed confidence that the film will offer audiences a gripping narrative blended with commercial elements while addressing a socially relevant issue. They also announced that regular shooting will commence shortly, with more updates about the cast, technical crew, and release plans to be revealed in the coming days.
