

Actor Rajendra Prasad was recently honoured with the prestigious Padma Shri Award by the Government of India. Reflecting on the moment, he expressed his joy and gratitude, attributing the recognition to the support of the Telugu audience.
"I will never forget this day, the day when the Central Government honoured me with the Padma Shri. This award is not just for me, it is for Telugu humour and the common man who loves entertainment," said Rajendra Prasad.
The actor went on to thank everyone who respects the arts and helped him reach this milestone. "Because of the Telugu audience, I stand here today to receive this award. Over the past 48 years, every character I've portrayed, every experiment I've undertaken, and every bit of encouragement I've received has led to this moment. I owe it all to the Telugu audience," he added.
Rajendra Prasad also expressed deep gratitude to the people of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for their unwavering support. "You made me ‘Natakireeti’ and showed your love through your applause. I will never forget the warmth you’ve shown me," he said.
With over 200 Telugu films to his credit, Rajendra Prasad is best known for his memorable comic roles in films such as Ladies Tailor, Aha Naa Pellanta, Rendu Rellu Aaru, April 1 Vidudala, and Appula Appa Rao. He made his acting debut in 1977 with Sneham, directed by the legendary Baapu, and continues to work in the industry as a character actor to this day.
