Veteran actor Rajendra Prasad has been criticised by netizens and cinephiles for using an expletive on-stage during the pre-release event of Robinhood when he talked about David Warner. He had said, “Ee David Warner d******. Cricket aadamantey Srivalli dance chesthadu!” in a playful tone but the usage of the inappropriate word was found objectionable by various sections of the audiences.
In response, the veteran actor put out an apology video on Tuesday, he said, “I love David Warner. I love his cricket. David Warner also loves our films and acting. We became very close during the shoot of the film. Whatever the case, if my recent comment hurt any of you, I feel very sorry. I didn’t mean for the word to be intentional. Henceforth, I will make sure that something like this will never happen.”
Rajendra Prasad plays a key role in Nithiin’s upcoming entertainer Robinhood. The trailer shows Nithiin’s character as a Robinhood-esque thief. He is chosen as security for Nila, played by Sree Leela, in association with a firm owned by Rajendra Prasad’s character. The music by GV Prakash hits the right notes in packaging this commercial entertainer. Robinhood is all geared up to strike the big screens on March 28.
Robinhood is written and directed by Venky Kudumula. The comedy also stars Shine Tom Chacko, Mime Gopi among others. Cricketer David Warner is teased at the end of the trailer and his fans in Telugu are massively waiting for his debut in the film.
