After nearly four years, Adivi Sesh is returning to the big screen with Dacoit, an ambitious action drama slated for a March 19 release across Telugu and Hindi markets. The film’s teaser, unveiled recently, received a strong response, sparking curiosity around its scale, tone, and casting.
Directed by Shaneil Deo, Dacoit features Mrunal Thakur as the female lead, with filmmaker and actor Anurag Kashyap playing a key role. The makers have now shared a major update, announcing that Mrunal Thakur has wrapped up her shoot for the film.
“It’s a wrap for @mrunal0801 as she completes her shoot for the high-octane drama #Dacoit with an exhilarating schedule. Gearing up for a grand worldwide release on March 19, 2026, in Hindi and Telugu,” the production team announced through their official statement.
Produced jointly by Supriya Yarlagadda and Suniel Narang, Dacoit has been mounted on a lavish scale. Earlier, Adivi Sesh revealed that the team shot every scene twice to ensure that both the Telugu and Hindi versions feel equally organic, rather than dubbed adaptations.
The film also features an ensemble cast including Prakash Raj, Atul Kulkarni, and Kamakshi Bhaskarla in important roles, adding further weight to the narrative. Music is composed by Bheems Cecirolio, who is currently riding high on the success of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. Notably, the Dacoit teaser featured a reimagined version of Nagarjuna’s iconic song 'Kannu Kottaro', which struck an instant chord with audiences.
With post-production progressing steadily and promotional momentum building, Dacoit is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated releases of the year for Adivi Sesh, promising an intense cinematic experience when it arrives in theatres this March.
