Actor Mrunal Thakur is known for her roles in romantic films such as Sita Ramam and The Family Star, besides her work in Hindi and Marathi cinema. She is also set to storm to the screen with the action thriller Dacoit: A Love Story, directed by Shaneil Deo and co-starring Adivi Sesh, which is slated for a summer release.
Meanwhile, speculation has been rife about Mrunal collaborating with Allu Arjun on a film directed by Atlee, which is tentatively titled AA22xA6. The buzz is that Mrunal plays a romantic role opposite Allu Arjun in the film. The actor opened up about the speculation in a recent interview.
Speaking to HT City, Mrunal Thakur said that she recently visited Hyderabad to read a screenplay for a Hindi film and not a Telugu film. However, she explained that because she visited the city, people started speculating about her potential involvement in a big-budget film made in South India.
At this point, the interviewer brought up the speculation about her role in the Allu Arjun film. In response, the actor said that she is not aware of the development. Surprised by the name drop, she stated, "Really? It's happening? Me?" The actor also asked the interviewer and AR Ameen, the singer of her latest music video 'Bheegi Bheegi', to pray for her collaboration with Allu Arjun to be real.
The actor threw her hat in the ring, saying that she "would love to be" part of a futuristic film, such as the one Allu Arjun and Atlee are working on. "After watching 'Bheegi Bheegi', if I get a role which is in that space, I would love to (be part of it) because I am a big fan of Allu Arjun and Atlee sir as well," Mrunal explained.
As reported earlier, the Allu Arjun-Atlee film is described as a high-concept science-fiction action drama.
