Actor Prabhas is coming back to action-packed cinema following Baahubali, Saaho, Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, and Kalki 2898 AD with the film Fauzi. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi of Sita Ramam fame, the upcoming film marks the Telugu debut of DOP Sudeep Chatterjee, known for his work in titles such as Chak De! India, Guzaarish, Padmaavat, and Bajirao Mastani. Recently, Sudeep spoke about his experience working with Prabhas in the film.
Speaking to Variety India, the cinematographer said, "Everyone I've worked with is special in their own way, but with Prabhas, you have to work with him to realise why people love him so much. There is just so much truth in his eyes. Not an iota of dishonesty. He has very honest eyes, and that comes through the lens as a beautiful human being. That is what audiences connect with."
Billed as Mythri Movie Makers' most ambitious feature film of all time, Fauzi is produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y Ravi Shankar and Bhushan Kumar. Besides Prabhas, the film stars Imanvi, Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Jaya Prada, and Bhanu Chander, among others.
The period drama promises to show Prabhas in an avatar that is being billed as intense, fierce, and something unprecedented for the actor. The recently released glimpse features Prabhas' character soaked in blood and carrying a gun, and it has added to the anticipation around the release of the film. It is slated for a December 03 release in theatres worldwide.
Prabhas most recently appeared in the fantasy-horror-comedy The Raja Saab, which is regarded as a major misfire from the actor. Beyond Fauzi, the actor will also be seen in Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga of Arjun Reddy and Animal fame.
