Ravi Babu is multifaceted. He is an actor, writer, producer, and director. He always comes up with concept based films and is known for films such as Allari, Anasuya, Nachavule, Nuvvila, Avunu and more. Now, he is taking a violent turn in his upcoming film Razor, where he stars in the lead role and also serves as its director and producer.

Ravi Babu, known for pushing boundaries and steering clear of formula-driven storytelling, returns with Razor, a film that stands as one of his most intense creative departures yet. Presented by Suresh Babu’s Suresh Productions and produced by Flying Frogs, the project is gearing up for a global theatrical release on May 8. As the release date nears, the makers unveiled the film’s theatrical trailer today.

They say when someone is in need, God sends a guardian angel. But when death begins to stalk without pause, and escape is no longer possible, that same angel transforms into an agent of destruction. Mercy disappears, hesitation fades, and what remains is pure, unfiltered fury. To protect what he holds dear, rage, wrath, chaos, and carnage converge, giving rise to Razor.

The trailer hints at a dark, unsettling world shaped by fear, instability, and fractured psychology. Ravi Babu steps into the role of a dog groomer turned protector, a man pushed to extremes while shielding a young girl. It’s a character that demands both raw intensity and emotional depth, and he appears to embrace that duality with ease.

As writer-director, Ravi Babu blends his signature unpredictability with a more accessible and engaging narrative style. On the technical front, the film stands out with Charan Madhavaneni’s slick cinematography, SS Rajesh’s powerful background score, and Satish Poloju’s dynamic action choreography. The production values further enhance its gritty, immersive tone.

The trailer builds strong intrigue and positions Razor as a gripping, high-voltage theatrical experience to watch out for on May 8. Ravi Babu’s late father and versatile actor Chalapathi Rao’s birthday is on May 8, so Ravi Babu decided to release his film on that date.
