Ravi Babu, who is known for making small-budget films, marks his return with Razor, with which he ventures into a darker, sharper, and more violent space compared to his previous outings. Presented by Suresh Babu under Suresh Productions and produced by Flying Frogs, the film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on May 8. The date holds significance as it coincides with the birth anniversary of Ravi Babu’s father, the late Chalapathi Rao.
After the lighter-toned Enuguthondam Ghatikachalam, Ravi Babu dives headfirst into a world filled with tension, brutality, and psychological chaos. Taking on dual responsibilities as both director and lead actor, he brings a raw and unsettling edge to Razor.
The film has already generated strong buzz since its title announcement, and the recently released glimpse has only heightened anticipation. Earlier footage showcased Ravi Babu in a spine-chilling avatar, hinting at the film’s intense tone.
The makers have also released a fresh set of posters, featuring Ravi Babu against gritty urban backdrops and industrial settings. In one striking visual, he is seen navigating a chaotic street alongside a young girl, suggesting an emotional layer beneath the film’s violent narrative.
The shoot was wrapped up in February, and post-production, including dubbing, has been completed. With final touches currently underway, Razor is gearing up for its theatrical release this summer as one of the boldest and most unconventional thrillers in Telugu cinema.
Written and directed by Ravi Babu, the film features cinematography by Charan Madhavaneni, music by SS Rajesh, and action choreography by Satish Poloju.
