Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan’s recent film Ustaad Bhagat Singh is all set to make its OTT debut. Directed by Harish Shankar, the film features Sreeleela and Raashi Khanna as the female leads. Music for the film is handled by two composers — Devi Sri Prasad, who composed the songs, and Thaman, who provided the background score.

Released in theatres on March 19 amid high expectations, the film did not perform well at the box office. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, it has Pawan Kalyan playing a cop.

Now, Netflix has officially announced that Ustaad Bhagat Singh will begin streaming on the platform from April 16. With several rumours circulating on social media about its OTT release, this announcement has finally put an end to the speculation.

Interestingly, Ustaad Bhagat Singh marks the reunion of Pawan Kalyan and director Harish Shankar after 16 years. The duo had earlier worked together on Gabbar Singh, which was a massive hit. This is also the second film to hit theatres after Pawan Kalyan took charge as the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

The story revolves around Bhagat Singh (Pawan Kalyan), a former officer who is now leading a quiet life in the Nallamala forest. A wealthy businessman arrives at a forest guest house to celebrate his younger daughter’s pre-wedding function. His elder daughter, Shloka (Raashi Khanna), is dealing with emotional distress after a breakup, and Bhagat is assigned to ensure the family’s safety during their stay.

At the same time, the Chief Minister’s son visits the forest for a private party, invited by Chengayya (Rao Ramesh). In a sudden twist, Bhagat kidnaps the Chief Minister’s son and hides him in the forest. Instead of approaching the police, the Chief Minister (Parthiban) seeks help from a militant group operating in the region. What leads Bhagat to take such a step, what is his past, and what happened to the former Chief Minister (played by KS Ravi Kumar) form the rest of the story.
