Amidst the massive hype and excitement for Pawan Kalyan’s OG, a major setback arrives for the OG team in form of an order from Telangana High Court that dismissed the memo approving the ticket price hikes for benefit shows scheduled to begin later tonight in Hyderabad as well as regular shows beginning on September 25.
The permission for ticket price hikes was granted earlier by Telangana government that allowed the OG makers to price their benefit shows at Rs 800 on September 24. The permission that was granted last week, also allowed the producers to raise their regular ticket prices for regular shows starting from September 25, for both single screens and multiplexes, allowing them to price single-screen and multiplex tickets at ₹277 and ₹445 respectively for the first days of OG's release (September 25 to October 4).
With this High Court order, it remains to be seen whether OG makers will be able to organise their benefit shows as planned. It is to be noted that the Pawan Kalyan starrer has registered phenomenal figures for both its premiere shows on Wednesday, as well as its opening day shows both in domestic and overseas markets.
Meanwhile, the benefit shows in Andhra Pradesh will begin at 1 am tonight.
By early estimates, OG is aiming for a Rs 100 crore figure in its worldwide collections on day 1. Also starring Priyanka Mohan, Prakash Raj, Emraan Hashmi, Arjun Das and Sriya Reddy, OG is directed by Sujeeth and produced under DVV Entertainment banner. The film also has stellar technicians like Ravi K Chandran and Manoj Paramahamsa behind the camera, Thaman S on music, Navin Nooli on editing and AS Prakash handling production design.
