Jatadhara, starring Sudheer Babu in the lead, will release in theatres on November 7. The film is directed by Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal and is being jointly produced by Zee Studios and Ess Kay Gee Entertainments, with Umesh Kumar Bansal, Shivin Narang, Aruna Agarwal, Prerna Arora, Shilpa Singhal, and Nikhil Nanda backing the project.
The mythological drama also marks Sonakshi Sinha’s Telugu debut, where she plays Dhanapisachini, a demonic goddess symbolising greed. Sudheer Babu is presented as a figure of sacrifice, with the teaser ending on the appearance of Lord Shiva, hinting at a spiritual undercurrent to the otherwise mythological spectacle. Shilpa Shirodkar and Divya Khosla appear in other important roles.
Announced in August 2024, Jatadhara began production in February this year after a muhurtham ceremony attended by industry names like Harish Shankar, Venky Atluri, and Mohana Krishna Indraganti. Sonakshi wrapped her portions by May, while the team continued with large-scale sequences built around stylised VFX and sound design.
Shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, Jatadhara is billed as a supernatural action drama exploring lore linked to the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple. On the technical front, Sameer Kalyani handles cinematography, Prabhat Thakur serves as production designer, and Sandhya Sharma is the art director.
For Sudheer Babu, who was last seen in Maa Nanna Superhero and Harom Hara, Jatadhara comes at a crucial juncture in his career. With the addition of Sonakshi Sinha in her debut Telugu role and the scale of the production, the makers are aiming for a pan-Indian reach when the film lands in theatres this November.
