Teja Sajja, who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming superhero spectacle Mirai, had a playful suggestion while promoting the film in Kerala. Speaking about the growing wave of homegrown superheroes, the actor said he would love to see them all come together on screen.
“We are really proud of the new wave of Malayalam cinema. I am proud to say I am a part of Indian superheroes,” Teja said, before adding: “I am happy that there is a new Indian superwoman out there. I wish someday that all these superheroes, Minnal Murali, Lokah, HanuMan and Veda from Mirai come together and make an Avengers: Endgame kind of film.”
Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, Mirai is pitched as a high-concept action-adventure blending mythology with modern superhero storytelling. The trailer shows Teja’s character embarking on a journey to attain Mirai, a divine staff linked to Lord Rama’s path in Treta Yuga.
Manchu Manoj plays the antagonist Black Sword, who is in pursuit of nine sacred books that could make him invincible. The film also features Shriya Saran as Teja’s mother, Jayaram and Jagapathi Babu in key roles, and promises large-scale visuals with Ghattamaneni also handling cinematography. Music is composed by Gowra Hari.
Produced as a pan-Indian release, Mirai will hit theatres in 2D and 3D across eight languages on September 12, clashing with Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ horror-thriller Kishkindhapuri.
