Emraan Hashmi is all set to make waves in Telugu cinema with his upcoming film OG, marking his much-anticipated regional debut. Speaking about the project, Emraan said, “I was thrilled when I was approached for this film as it would mark my foray into Telugu cinema. What better way to do that than locking horns with superstar Pawan Kalyan on celluloid.”
Emraan further shared, “Working with director Sujeeth and Pawan Kalyan was a fantastic experience. Right from my look, to my lines to my characterisation, I loved everything about it and I was excited to be a part of this film.”
Directed by Sujeeth, OG promises to be a stylish gangster action drama with a global scope. The recently unveiled birthday teaser has stirred buzz online, ending on a powerful note as Pawan Kalyan’s character Ojas Gambheera is shown in a still post-fight. Emraan steps into the role of a ruthless crime boss who seizes control in Ojas’s absence, setting the stage for a high-stakes face-off.
Alongside Emraan and Pawan Kalyan, OG stars Priyanka Mohan, Arjun Das, Prakash Raj, and Sriya Reddy. Music is composed by Thaman S, while cinematography is handled by Ravi K Chandran and Manoj Paramahamsa. Produced by DVV Danayya of RRR fame under DVV Entertainment, OG is scheduled for a theatrical release on September 2025.
Distribution rights for North India and Nepal are held by Monk Films and Vibrant Vista Entertainments, extending the film’s reach beyond the traditional Telugu-speaking audience.
Emraan Hashmi, who was last seen in the action thriller Ground Zero, also has other Telugu projects in the pipeline, including G2, a sequel to Goodachari, and the second installment of Awarapan, slated for release in 2026.
