The new single from upcoming Ram Pothineni starrer Andhra King Taluka was unveiled on Friday evening. Malayalam composer duo Vivek-Mervin have given music for the film.
Titled ‘Chinni Gundelo’, the new single is a catchy romantic song, peppy in its beats and yet carrying a lilting, dreamy quality, capturing the humble ambitions of its middle-class protagonist who daydream about a happy, blissful life with each other. Mervin is also the playback singer for the number, along with Satya Yamini. Krishna Kanth has penned the lyrics. The special promotional video, shot with Ram Pothineni and female lead Bhagyashri Borse, is equally dreamy and fantastical in its treatment, and catches eyeballs with its fairy tale-like production values and costumes.
Besides its unconventional concept, Andhra King Taluka has also drawn a lot of attention with its soundtrack, especially with the Anirudh-sung ‘Nuvvunte Chaley’ that has over 29 million hits on YouTube.
Directed by Mahesh Babu P, Andhra King Taluka promises to be a unique coming-of-age narrative about a wide-eyed fanboy and his love for cinema. Produced under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, The film also stars Kannada superstar Upendra in a guest appearance, with him playing the superstar whose fandom defines the existence of our protagonist. The film also boasts a strong supporting cast featuring Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Satya, Rahul Ramakrishna, and VTV Ganesh. Key technicians include Siddhartha Nuni behind the lens, Sreekar Prasad as the editor, and Avinash Kolla helming production design.
Mahesh Babu P's debut film Mrs Shetty and Mr Polishetty (2023) was a box office hit. Meanwhile, Ram Pothineni’s previous release was the action-entertainer Double iSmart.
Bhagyashri Borse has another big release coming up with the Tamil film Kaantha which stars Dulquer Salmaan in the lead.
Andhra King Taluka will arrive in theatres on November 28.
