

During a promotional interview released by the Baahubali makers yesterday, on the occasion of the iconic film series re-releasing in theatres on October 31, SS Rajamouli had talked about a two-part animation film being in works. On Thursday, Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda officially announced the project, sharing other details about the same.
Taking to his X page, Shobu Yarlagadda penned, “We have been working for nearly two years with animation filmmaker Ishan Shukla on this project based in the Baahubali universe.” He also informed that its a two-part stylised 3D animation film series, titled Baahubali — The Eternal War, adding that its being made in collaboration with Indian and international studios and creative teams. “Our vision is to offer the first-of-its-kind animation film from India!”
Shobu also informed that the first teaser of the animation film plan is attached with Baahubali: The Epic, the combined feature of two parts of Baahubali that will hit theatres worldwide tomorrow. Additionally, the first look poster, teaser and more details on the team working on the project will be unveiled next week.
In the promotional interview released on Wednesday, SS Rajamouli spoke more about the project and the filmmaker behind it. He said, “Ishan came and told the story of how we can extend the Baahubali world into something else. It is still the Baahubali characters in that space, but taken completely into a different tangent.” The Baahubali director also informed that the estimated budget for the project is nearly Rs 120 crores.
Meanwhile, Baahubali: The Epic looks all set to break all boxoffice records for an Indian film re-release. By early estimates, the film will cross more than 20 crores on day 1 alone, surpassing the records of films like Khaleja and Murari that collected Rs 13 and Rs 9 crore in their entire re-release run.
