The makers of Mowgli, the upcoming action-romance starring Roshan Kanakala and Sakshi Mhadolkar, set December 12 as the release date for their film. On Friday, a grand ceremony was held to kick off the promotions with the launch of first single titled ‘Sayyare.’
Composed by Kaala Bhairava, ‘Sayyare’ is a dreamy love song, lilting in its melody with a bouncy rhythm and impressive use of violins, flute and acoustic guitar. Kaala Bhairava has also served as the playback singer for his composition, along with Aishwarya Daruri. Academy Award winner Chandrabose has penned the lyrics.
What’s more fascinating than the composition is the brief snippets of the video that go along with it, showcasing a movie set as the backdrop where the love story between the two protagonists unfolds — while the female lead, a deaf girl who works as a background score, the male protagonist is an average-joe crew member. The two silently bond over playful glances and chaotic shoot schedules. Vaddee Krishna has choreographed the song video.
While Sakshi Mhadolkar makes her debut with Mowgli, this is the second film for Roshan Kanakala after his 2023 romance Bubble Gum, which also featured Maanasaa Choudhary. The film also features independent filmmaker Bandi Saroj Kumar as the main antagonist and Harsha Chemudu in a significant role.
People Media Factory is bankrolling the film, with TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad serving as producers. The action-romance is written and directed by Sandeep Raj, who had made his debut with the 2020 film Colour Photo, that garnered plenty of acclaim and went on to win the National Award for the Best Film. In the technical team, Peekay is the editor and Rama Maruti M helms cinematography. Kiran Mamidi is the art director.
As of now, Mowgli is the only major Telugu release for December 12.
