
Baahubali: The Epic, the re-edited and remastered cut combining Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017), has officially completed its censor formalities. The film has been granted a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and boasts an imposing runtime of 3 hours and 44 minutes, making it one of the longest theatrical experiences in modern Indian cinema.
The makers confirmed the news on X, writing, “Certified U/A. 3 hours 44 minutes of sheer epicness. Jai Mahishmati! #BaahubaliTheEpic” The re-release will hit theatres worldwide on October 31, coinciding with the tenth anniversary celebrations of Baahubali: The Beginning.
Baahubali: The Epic is more than just a re-release. The film has been re-edited, remastered, and enhanced with updated sound and visuals, while retaining the heart of SS Rajamouli’s monumental storytelling. Though the makers have kept the exact changes under wraps, sources suggest that select sequences have been trimmed and polished to ensure a seamless single-film narrative.
Producers Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni of Arka Media Works revealed that the re-editing process was “one of the most challenging tasks” of their careers. Yarlagadda also thanked Rajamouli and his team for working on the project “like it’s a brand-new film,” adding that with Rajamouli, “there are no half measures.”
Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Nassar, the Baahubali franchise remains a global landmark in Indian cinema. With music by MM Keeravani, the re-release will arrive in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam, across multiple premium formats including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, D-Box, and EPIQ, all at regular ticket prices.
