RK Sagar, who had a film release earlier this year with The 100, where he played a role of a cop, has now announced his next project. The film, untitled as yet, is being mounted as a pan-India film and is based on a true story.
Directed by B Jeevan Reddy, the film will be inspired by the lives of Singareni coal mine workers in Telangana. The team is reportedly planning to build large-scale sets, including realistic replicas of coal mine underground, to capture the raw essence of their story’s backdrop and to adequately picturise the hardships and bonding among the Singareni workers, and the extremely challenges involved in their daily lives. It is to be noted that RK Sagar himself hails from a workers’ family in Singareni.
The team also shared that regular shooting for the film will commence in November. While more details about the film’s primary cast and crew are yet to be announced, the team is reportedly in talks with a popular star for a major role in the film.
Jeevan Reddy won acclaim for George Reddy, his 2019 film. His other films include Koottam (2014). and Chor Bazaar (2022).
RK Sagar is known for his work in films like Mr Perfect and Shaadi Mubarak.
