Within 24 hours of release, Prabhas' much-awaited The Raja Saab trailer has crossed over 45 million views across all digital platforms. After crossing the 10 million mark within a few hours, the film has achieved this feat, proving the rising expectations for the horror-comedy, a first for Prabhas. Sharing the news, the makers wrote, "The Raja Saab trailer is a royal blast fans can’t get enough of. Smashes past 40 Million+ Digital Views with absolute dominance."
Directed by Maruthi and backed by People Media Factory, the film which was supposed to be out on December 5 has been officially pushed for a pan-India release on January 9, 2026, directly clashing with Vijay's Jana Nayagan.
The Raja Saab stars Prabhas in dual roles. Malavika Mohanan, who makes her Telugu debut, stars opposite him, while Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar take on other leading parts. Boman Irani and Sanjay Dutt are also part of the star cast, playing prominent roles.
Prabhas is quirky, sarcastic and is a scared kitty in the first trailer of The Raja Saab. He and his ensemble including Sathya, Sapthagiri, VTV Ganesh and Prabhas Seenu enter the haunted palace and they get terrified in various scenes. Prabhas’ grandfather is referred to as the ghost and towards the end, Prabhas’ avatar as the grandfather is revealed. It is hinted that he is the titular “Raja Saab” who resides in an upside down world.
The Raja Saab’s technical team has cinematographer Karthik Palani, production designer Rajeevan and editor Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao, with the production in its final stages. Thaman has created the music and background score for the film.
The actor's upcoming slate includes Spirit with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, an untitled period drama with Hanu Raghavapudi, Salaar 2 and Kalki 2.
