Last month, we reported that Prabhas is uniting with Hanu Raghavapudi for a film titled Fauzi. The film, also starring Imanvi, is set to feature Prabhas in a soldier's uniform as a part of the Azad Hind Force, with the film being a fictional retelling of historical events.
The upcoming film is backed by Mythri Movie Makers. Now, according to an official press note, the Sita Ramam director has confirmed that Fauzi will be released in two parts. Speaking about the same, Hanu said, "We're portraying one world of Prabhas in this movie, and the second instalment will explore another dimension. There's abundant material from our colonial past — stories that ended tragically but could've been fairy tales in another reality. I've also woven in a few real-life experiences that inspired me personally."
The previously released film poster carries the tagline, ‘A battalion who fights alone.’ While it’s clear the film is a period action-drama, it’s not clarified whether the film is set precisely in the British Empire’s rule or in the post-independence era. What remains likely is that the audience will get to see Prabhas as a sincere and capable army officer who revolts against his own officers. Previously, the makers unveiled a concept poster, which described its protagonist as ‘the most wanted man since 1932’.
Like the previously shared posters, the title poster too carries plenty of Sanskrit shlokas from Mahabharata, hinting at a strong connection between the mythological text and its core themes as part of Fauzi’s narrative.
It is to be noted that Hanu Raghavapudi’s previous film, Sita Ramam, too had a period backdrop and had an army man as the male protagonist, largely unfolding in the 1960s as it told the love story between its titular characters.
The supporting cast of Fauzi includes Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Chaithra Achar and Jaya Prada in key roles. The music is by Vishal Chandrashekhar, who had also composed music for Hanu Raghavapudi’s previous film, Sita Ramam. Other key technicians include cinematographer Sudeep Chatterjee and editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. Fauzi has been tentatively scheduled for an August 2026 release.
Meanwhile, Prabhas has a big release lined up in January 2026 with The Raja Saab, the horror-comedy directed by Maruthi, which also stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Sanjay Dutt.
