There was a lot of anticipation around the official title of Prabhas’ upcoming film with Hanu Raghavapudi. On Thursday, which also marks 46th birthday for Prabhas, the makers officially announced Fauzi as the title of their film.
The film poster also carries the tagline, ‘A battalion who fights alone.’ While it’s clear the film is a period action-drama, it’s not clarified whether the film is set precisely in the British empire’s rule or in the post-independence era. What remains likely is that the audience will get to see Prabhas as a sincere and capable army officer who revolts against his own officers. Yesterday, the makers unveiled a concept poster, which described its protagonist as ‘the most wanted man since 1932’.
Like the previously shared posters, the title poster too carries plenty of Sanskrit shlokas from Mahabharata, hinting at a strong connect of the mythological text and its core themes as part of Fauzi’s narrative.
It is to be noted that Hanu Raghavapudi’s previous film Sita Ramam too had a period backdrop, and had an armyman as the male protagonist, largely unfolding in the 1960s as it told the love story between its titular characters.
Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Fauzi also stars Imanvi as the female lead. T-Series Films is onboard as the presenter. The supporting cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Jaya Prada in key roles. The music is by Vishal Chandrashekhar, who had also composed music for Hanu Raghavapudi’s previous film Sita Ramam. Other key technicians include cinematographer Sudeep Chatterjee and editor Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. Fauzi has been tentatively scheduled for August 2026 release.
Meanwhile Prabhas has a big release lined up in January 2026 with The Raja Saab, the horror-comedy directed by Maruthi which also stars Nidhhi Aggerwal, Malavika Mohanan, and Sanjay Dutt.
