A few days ago, the makers of Akhanda 2 screened the film’s teaser in 3D for the media and selected audiences. The producers officially confirmed that the movie will be released in both 2D and 3D formats. “When we first heard the story, we immediately felt it should be made in 3D,” said producer Ram Achanta.
Ram also expressed confidence that the film will be a massive blockbuster. “Although it’s a sequel to Akhanda, Balakrishna’s performance in this film is on another level. His energy, his expressions, his entire screen presence are mind-blowing,” he said.
Responding to another question, the producer clarified that Samyuktha is not playing Balakrishna’s wife in the film. “Many people think that since Pragya Jaiswal played the younger Balakrishna’s wife in the first part, and since she isn’t in the sequel, Samyuktha might be playing that role. That’s not true. To know what her role actually is, you’ll have to wait till December 5, when the film releases,” he said.
Talking about his film, Director Boyapati Srinu said the film is deeply rooted in Sanatana Hindu Dharma. “This film reflects the soul of India and Dharma. The Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Bhagavad Gita—all three speak about Dharma, and you will find their essence in this film,” Boyapati explained. He added that even though it is a commercial entertainer, he has woven these elements throughout the narrative.
Balakrishna plays a dual role in Akhanda 2, which is produced by Ram and Gopi Achanta. Thaman S has composed music for the film. The makers recently unveiled new single of their film, titled 'Thaandavam song'.
