The first single from Ram Charan starrer Peddi, titled ‘Chikiri Chikiri’ was unveiled on Friday morning. Also starring Janhvi Kapoor, Peddi is directed by Buchi Babu Sana.
Making a rare appearance in Telugu film music, Mohit Chauhan renders ‘Chikiri Chikiri’ with an infectious energy. The composition itself by AR Rahman is very peppya and upbeat, with great use of rustic purcussions that lend it a distinct flavour. Balaji has penned the lyrics. The music video, choreographed by Jani Master, primarily focuses on Ram Charan in a jubilant mood, dancing all around his village while declaring his feeling and pursuing Achiyamma (Janhvi)'s affections, while also featuring Janhvi Kapoor in a celebratory dance by the bonfire. The song is entirely shot in exteriors.
The Peddi makers also intercut the song video with special promotional video shoot that features Rahman, Buchi Babu Sana and Mohit Chauhan jamming on the song.
Besides Ram Charan and Janhvi, Peddi features Jagapathi Babu, Shivarajkumar and Mirzapur fame Divyenndu in the primary cast. The ensemble cast includes Satya. Sukumar, who had also produced Buchi Babu Sana’s acclaimed debut Uppena, is onboard as the presenter for Peddi in association with Mythri Movie Makers. In the technical team, the sports-drama has cinematographer R Rathnavelu, National Award winning editor Navin Nooli and production designer Avinash Kolla.
Produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas, Peddi is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 27, 2026, clashing at the box office against Nani starrer The Paradise which releases a day prior.
The film is mounted as a massive pan-India release. A few days ago, the makers announced Pethi as the Tamil title.
