Shashtipoorthi, the relationship drama marking the acting debut for Rupeysh will hit theatres tomorrow, on May 30. On Wednesday, the makers finished censorship formalities for the film — Shashtipoorthi has received a U/A certificate.
Directed by debutant Pavan Prabha, Shashtipoorthi promises to tell the story of a righteous lawyer and his relationship with his parents (played by Rajendra Prasad and Archana), and how his romance with a young village girl named Janaki (Aakanksha Singh) indirectly causes a rift between him and his parents.
In a recent interview, Aakanksha Singh stated, “This is a film where you can, and should, go with your family members. Parents are one’s biggest support, love, the top most priority in life - and this film talks about that.”
Shashtipoorthi has music direction by legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja. Rupeysh has also produced the film under his Maa Aiie banner. Actors like Prabhas Sreenu, Chalaki Chanti, Chakrapani Ananda, Muralidhar Goud, Jabardasth Ram, and Sanjay Swarup, among others, comprise the ensemble cast. The technical crew includes Raam cranking the camera, Thota Tharani helming the art direction, and Karthika Srinivas, who is the editor.
