Adivi Sesh, widely recognised for his work in the thriller and action space, is set to explore a new cinematic territory with his upcoming film Dacoit. The project, which co-stars Mrunal Thakur, marks Sesh’s first full-fledged romantic lead role and is being simultaneously filmed in Telugu and Hindi.
Speaking about the shift, Sesh said, “This is the first time I’m truly diving into a love story as a genre and that in itself makes Dacoit very special to me. Even though my character is raw and filled with rage, the story at its core is about love, the kind that transforms you, redeems you, even breaks you.”
Dacoit, directed by debutant Shaneil Deo, is billed as a romantic action thriller set against themes of betrayal, love, and vengeance. It has filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, debuting in Telugu while playing a fierce police officer. Sesh is also one of the writers for the project.
Known for performances in films like Goodachari, Evaru, and Major, Sesh is set to speak in the Madanapalle dialect in the Telugu version. Dacoit is scheduled for pan-Indian release on December 25.
