The pre-release event for upcoming big ticket film Kuberaa was held on Sunday. The event was attended by the film’s primary cast and crew, including Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, Nagarjuna, director Sekhar Kammula, and music director Jim Sarbh among others.
Among others in attendance was SS Rajamouli, who too praised the Kuberaa filmmaker for his attitude, stating, “He is soft, humble yet extremely stubborn. He sticks to his principles, no matter what the obstacles.” The RRR filmmaker also praised Sekhar Kammula for his ability to make films that are based on his personal ideology. He added, “You and I are extremely opposite. My films have nothing to do with my personal ideology. So I have great respect for you because you make and lead your life on your principles.”
During a light-hearted interaction later with between the cast and anchor Suma, when asked who would he cast if he makes a Telugu film, Dhanush simply replied, “Pawan Kalyan sir,” leading to a thunderous roar from the audience present at the event. Earlier, during the event, Dhanush praised his director Sekhar Kammula for his dedication towards the project. He said, “You have literally put everything on the line, including your health. There were so many days when he wasn’t well, but he still came to shoot. I was very worried about him.” The actor-director also revealed that Sekhar Kammula had narrated Kuberaa idea to him before Sir, which was Dhanush’s first Telugu film. “You are stubborn for the right reasons. Thank you for giving me such a special character like Deva,” he added.
Later, In Nagarjuna’s praise, Dhanush stated, “We grew up watching your films. My sisters had big crush on your growing up. It’s so nice to have shared screenspace with you.”
Kuberaa is slated for a theatrical release on June 20.
