Rajendra Prasad recently came under scrutiny for using an inappropriate term while addressing fellow actor and comedian Ali at a public event celebrating director SV Krishna Reddy’s birthday. The incident, captured on video, quickly went viral, drawing criticism from netizens who found the language offensive, especially given Rajendra Prasad’s seniority in the Telugu film industry.
As backlash intensified, Rajendra Prasad addressed the controversy during a Shashtipoorthi success meet. Dismissing the criticism, he remarked that if people misunderstood his words, it was “their problem” and stated that he was not concerned by the reactions.
In response, Ali released a video clarifying his position on Monday. “Rajendra Prasad gaaru is a senior actor and a friend. It was a slip of the tongue. He is in immense grief after his daughter has passed away. Please give him space and let’s move on from this,” he said urging the media and the public not to escalate the issue further.
Industry reports and social media users have expressed concern over Rajendra Prasad’s recent public behaviour, which some allege is becoming increasingly erratic. The veteran actor was last seen in Shashtipoorthi and Robinhood.
