The new single of upcoming period drama Champion was released on Sunday. Mickey J Meyer, who last composed music for Nani starrer Hit 3, is the music director for Champion that stars Roshan Meka and Anaswara Rajan in the lead.
In complete contrast to the first two singles, which were rustic and earthy in their composition, ‘I am A Champion’ is a robust western number, designed as an endearing homage to the big band music era of 40s and 50s. The composition upbeat, and is full of energy, and the choice of instruments perfectly captures that time period. Penned by KK, ‘I am a Champion’ has Ramya Behara and P Jayaram as playback singers.
The music video also features Avanthika Vandanapu in a special appearance, who shares the limelight with Roshan Meka, performing those swanky dance moves with great charm. Pony Verma is the choreographer.
The official trailer of the film was unveiled a few days ago at a grand ceremony, that was graced by Ram Charan and Nag Ashwin. Besides narrating the coming-of-age of a talented football player, Champion also promises to capture the untold story of Bairanpally revolution of 1948. The film, written and directed by Pradeep Advaitham. The period action drama also stars Anaswara Rajan in her Telugu debut, also features actors like Kay Kay Menon and Murali Sharma as part of the ensemble cast.
The film is jointly bankrolled under the banners of Swapna Cinema, Zee Studios, Anandi Art Creations, and Concept Films. In the technical team, the film has Madhie ISC as the cinematographer and veteran production designer Thota Tharani. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is the editor.
Champion is all set for theatrical release on December 25, and will have considerable competition from several other small-scale films like Shambhala, Patang, Dhandoraa and Eesha.
