Teja Sajja’s Mirai gets trailer update with a new twist in release date
The makers of Mirai, the much-awaited fantasy action film starring Teja Sajja, have lined up a double announcement on Tuesday. The trailer is set to drop on August 28, while the film itself has shifted its release to September 12, moving a week away from its earlier date of September 5.
Reports of a delay due to VFX work had been circling for days. Confirming the change, the team revealed a striking new poster featuring Teja Sajja locking horns with Manchu Manoj in what is being teased as an epic clash between good and evil.
Directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, Mirai is touted as a high-concept, pan-Indian action adventure that blends mythology with superhero tropes. It will be released in both 2D and 3D formats across eight languages.
The teaser, released earlier this year, hinted at a modern mythological storyline centred around a divine staff called Mirai, a weapon that awakens only when destiny demands it. Teja Sajja plays a reluctant hero chosen to wield the staff against an existential threat to mankind. Facing him is Manchu Manoj as The Black Sword, introduced through stylised visuals and high-octane action sequences.
Backed by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner, Mirai features Shriya Saran, Jayaram and Jagapathi Babu in supporting roles. Music is composed by Gowra Hari, while Karthik Ghattamaneni doubles up as the cinematographer.
Meanwhile, Teja Sajja is set to continue his collaboration with People Media Factory. The banner has already locked him for another film, which director Prasanth Varma, of HanuMan fame, hinted could be a sequel to Zombie Reddy, the duo’s earlier comedy-horror hit.
