Yesterday, we had reported about the OTT premiere of Hari Hara Veera Mallu which began streaming on Tuesday midnight. However, much to the film-goers’ surprise, the OTT version is different from the theatrical version, with a lot of edits and changes.
The HHVM team has evidently removed many sequences with heavy VFX, especially with the ones involving Pawan Kalyan. It is to be noted that Hari Hara Veera Mallu had received a lot of criticism for its VFX portions. Later, the makers had claimed that they have fixed the VFX work, and have reissued the theatrical prints with updated VFX right on day 2 of the film’s release.
Additionally, the makers have also chopped out the climactic action sequence centred on Pawan Kalyan and Bobby Deol, deciding to end the film after completion of the ‘Asura Hananam’ song and placing the sequel title card post the song sequence. The film’s OTT version stands at a runtime of 153 minutes, as opposed to the original theatrical cut which was 163 minutes.
Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and Jyothi Krisna, Hari Hara Veera Mallu starred Niddhi Agerwal as the female lead and had music direction by MM Keeravani. Made on a reported budget of Rs 250 crore, the film has incurred losses for both its financers and distributors. According to a report from Sacnilk.com, the film’s worldwide gross collections stand at Rs 116 crore.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan is now gearing up for his next release OG, an actioner directed by Sujeeth that's slated to hit theatres on September 25.
