We had earlier reported about Jigris, a road trip comedy whose first look poster was unveiled in June. Among others, the film stars MAD franchise fame Ram Nithin in the lead cast. The first teaser of Jigris was launched at a ceremony on Friday evening, with Sandeep Reddy Vanga attending as chief guest.
Written and directed by debutant Harish Reddy Uppula, Jigris promises to be a madcap entertainer, capturing the lives of four friends who decide to take an impromptu trip to Goa, inspired from a Hollywood movie where the traveller didn’t care about carrying money, food or other amenities. Little do the boys know that their Goa plan will bring them face-to-face with other kinds of dangers, including a dacoit’s gang and a chaotic rural marriage procession.
At the teaser launch event, Sandeep Reddy Vanga stated, “Krishna, the producer, is my childhood friend. He knew I would discourage him, so he commenced the shoot without telling me. Later, he showed me some rushes, and I really liked them. In present times, it’s commendable how Harish wrote a clean comedy without any risque dialogues or cuss words.” Sandeep also praised the film’s music (by Kamran Syed), adding, “Your music is superb, and matches the film’s visuals perfectly.” Sandeep had also unveiled the first look poster a few weeks ago.
Krishna Burugula, Dheeraj Athreya and Mani Vaka play the other three leads. Jigris is produced by Krishna Vodapalli under Mount Meru Pictures banner. Eeswaraditya helms cinematography. Editing is by Chanakya Reddy Toorupu.
The makers of Jigris are yet to set a release date.
