Vijay Deverakonda launched the first single of the upcoming release Muthayya on his social media page. The film has music direction by Karthik Rodriguez.
Directed by Bhaskhar Maurya, Muthayya tells the story of a 70 year old man who strives to fulfil his aspiration of becoming an actor before he dies. Staying true to the film’s themes, the new single ‘Cinema La Act Jeshi’ captures the tall movie ambitions of its protagonist, and his perseverant efforts to make his dreams come true. The song has been composed with an upbeat and playful arrangement style. Bhaskhar Maurya himself has penned the lyrics, and Chinna K is the playback singer
Starring K Sudhakar Reddy in the lead role, the film also marks the debut for Arun Raj, besides featuring Purna Chandra and Mounika Bomma in the supporting cast. The film has been jointly produced by Vamsi Karumanchi and Vrinda Prasad under the banners of Hylife Entertainments and Fictionary Entertainment. Divakar Mani, the cinematographer of the film, is also on-board as the co-producer. Sai Murali is the editor.
Bhaskhar Maurya, who is also the scriptwriter for Muthayya, directed the recently-released web series Sivarapalli, the official adaptation of popular Hindi show Panchayat.
Over the last 2 years, Muthayya has had screenings at several film festivals across the world — including UK Asian Film Festicval in London, South Asian Film Festival of Montreal (Canada), and Ischia Global Fest (Italy).
