Jitendra Kumar’s comedy-drama series Panchayat is set to return with the fourth season on July 2, the makers announced through a promo video on Thursday. The series is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Akshat Vijaywargiya and also stars Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Sanvikaa, Chandan Roy, Faisal Malik, Durgesh Kumar, Sunita Rajwar, and Pankaj Jha in pivotal roles.

The makers shared a promo video featuring Jitendra having a fun banter with actor Gia Manek, who complains that the show has taken credit for all memes on social media. Other personalities who became popular online appear in the video, including Bhupendra Jogi and Darshan Magdum. Jitendra advises all of them, “Don't run after being viral, create a moment." Jitendra also reveals that the season 4 of Panchayat will be out this year. The video ends with the release date of the show.

The rural-comedy series, set in a small village of Phulera, revolves around Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra), an engineering graduate who reluctantly takes up the job of Panchayat secretary. Each episode deals with different problems the villagers, including Pradhan ji (Raghubir), his wife Manju Devi (Neena), ‘Vice-village head' Prahlad (Faisal) and office assistant Vikas (Chandan) face in their day-to-day lives.

It is produced by Arunabh Kumar under the banner of The Viral Fever (TVF). Its third season was released earlier last year in May.
